DECATUR — A 32-year-old woman told police she was stabbed by her brother but then refused to cooperate when officers arrived, police say.

Sgt. Chris Copeland said officers responded around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday to an address in the 1800 block of West Cushing Street, and the woman was sitting on the couch with a rag wrapped around her right leg. The victim took the rag off of her leg, exposing a laceration above her knee that was ¾-inch to one-inch deep.

The officer asked the victim who her brother was, and she told him to find out for himself, Copeland said. The woman cursed at the officers and told them to get out of her house.

"Due to her lack of cooperation and refusal to identify the suspect, we will not be investigating it any further," Copeland said.
