TAYLORVILLE — City Police and the Christian County Coroner’s office are investigating after the body of a 27-year-old woman was found lying in a Taylorville alleyway Wednesday morning.

Taylorville Police Department said Wednesday that “foul play is not suspected” in the woman’s death. An autopsy was due to be conducted Wednesday in Bloomington.

A statement from the police said firefighters and officers had been called at 6:41 a.m. after reports came in of a woman lying unresponsive in the 600 block of West First and West Maple streets.

“Taylorville Fire Department attempted to find a pulse and determined the female was deceased,” said the police statement. “... Her identity is not being released until all family members have been notified.”

Police and the coroner’s office continued their investigations Wednesday and said more information would be released as it became available.
