DECATUR — Police are investigating two homes being shot this week in Decatur.

A house in the 900 block of North University Avenue was shot at Wednesday evening. Police Sgt. Chris Copeland said a 34-year-old woman told officers she was sitting on a couch in her living room around 8:15 p.m. and heard what she described as a "whack" against the siding of her home.

Officers found two defects in the siding, but no shell casings, Copeland said. A 32-year-old man at the home told officers he also heard the noise and saw a vehicle drive northbound.

Both victims didn't have vehicle or suspect descriptions, Copeland said.

A 38-year-old woman told officers she was sleeping around 8:40 p.m. Thursday when her house was shot at, police said.

Sgt. Steve Carroll said police found one spent bullet in the driveway and two defects in the siding of the victim's home in the 1200 block of East Clay Street.

No shell casings were recovered and no suspect or vehicle descriptions were provided, Carroll said.
