DECATUR — A 25-year-old Decatur man was arrested Wednesday after police said he was found 86 grams of cannabis.

A signed police affidavit said an officer found the man Oct. 26 walking in the 1400 block of North Poole Street, after being alerted the man possibly was in possession of drugs and a firearm.

The officer initiated a pat-down, the affidavit said, and three bags of field-tested cannabis and a bag of 97 pills that were suspected to be ecstasy were found. The pills were sent to the Illinois State Police Crime Lab for testing, but the results showed that they didn't contain any controlled substances, the affidavit said.

The man faces preliminary charges of possession of 30 to 100 grams of cannabis, possession of 30 to 100 grams of cannabis with intent to deliver and delivery of a lookalike controlled substance. Preliminary charges are subject to review by the Macon County State's Attorney's Office.

He was being held in the Macon County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $10,000 bond and is due in court June 26.
