DECATUR — Police said officers found bags of cannabis and cocaine in a man's vehicle during an early Thursday morning traffic stop in Decatur.

A sworn affidavit said an officer spotted the 26-year-old man's vehicle traveling in the 700 block of East Johns Avenue without a rear registration plate light. During a search of the vehicle, the officer found a green bag that contained a clear plastic bag filled with a "leafy, green substance," the affidavit said.

The contents of the bag field-tested positive for cannabis and weighed 39.3 grams, the affidavit said. Eight plastic baggies containing 0.8 grams of field-tested positive cocaine were also found in the green bag, the affidavit said.

The man faces preliminary charges of delivery of a controlled substance and delivery of cannabis, which are subject to review by the Macon County State's Attorney's Office.
