DECATUR — Police arrested a second person Thursday morning in the shooting of two men April 18 on South Jackson Street.

Tyronn L. Ricks, 29, was arrested about 10:45 a.m. on a preliminary charge of attempted murder, Decatur police detective Sgt. Chris Copeland said. This follows the arrest of 26-year-old Jamaal Anthony Jackson, who faces the same preliminary charge.

Ricks was arrested by U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Copeland said. The location of the arrest was unavailable Thursday afternoon.

Police said two men, one in his 40s and one in his 20s, were shot about 10:45 p.m. April 18 in the 600 block of South Jackson Street. Detective Sgt. Steve Carroll said at the time that the men arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds not considered life-threatening, and police were notified.

Carroll said the men indicated they were sitting in a vehicle when another vehicle drove past and shots were fired into their vehicle. Shell casings were recovered at the scene, Carroll said.

Ricks and Jackson are being held in the Macon County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond. Preliminary charges are subject to review by the Macon County State's Attorney's Office.
