DECATUR — A Decatur woman just barred from a bar by Decatur police was arrested after patrol officers watched her walk back in seven minutes later, a sworn affidavit said.

The manager of the Lincoln Square Lounge in downtown Decatur had contacted police at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 21 because the 57-year-old woman was ordering drinks and refusing to pay. Police arrived and escorted the woman outside at the manager’s request, officer Timothy Wisniewski said in the affidavit.

By 3:55 p.m. the woman was back and refusing multiple requests to leave by the manager, prompting another call to police. “(She) was escorted out of the bar and I completed a Decatur Police Department Property Trespass Warning Form and explained the warning to her,” said Wisniewski. “She acknowledged that if she entered the Lincoln Square Lounge again, she could be arrested for trespassing ... the form was issued at approximately 4:45 p.m.”

Wisniewski sat in wait and, at 4:52 p.m., he said he watched the woman open the front door of the bar and walk inside.

She was arrested and booked on a preliminary charge of criminal trespass. Preliminary charges are subject to review by the Macon County State’s Attorney’s Office.
