DECATUR— Police say a 31-year-old man with an outstanding warrant was arrested Thursday after being found with methamphetamine and a stolen car.

A sworn affidavit from the Macon County Sheriff's Office said a deputy saw the suspect walking in the 700 block of West Oakland Court on Thursday and recognized him as having a warrant.

Deputies searched the man and found a baggie containing 2 grams of a substance with the presence of methamphetamine, according to the affidavit.

Prior to his arrest, the suspect was walking away from a black 2013 Chrysler 200 sedan with the key to the vehicle in his hand, according to the sworn affidavit. The vehicle was verified as stolen.

The suspect was booked into the Macon County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond. He is facing preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. All preliminary charges are subject to review by the Macon County State's Attorney's Office.
