Try 3 months for $3

DECATUR — Keith C. Brewer died from a single gunshot wound, Macon County Coroner Michael Day said Tuesday.

Brewer, 29, who was shot moments before 3:22 a.m. Monday, was hit by a bullet that first went through an arm before entering his chest and causing what Day described as “massive internal injury.”

Brewer’s body was found in the street in Cassell Court, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:20 a.m. The autopsy was conducted later Monday at the McLean County Coroner's Morgue in Bloomington.

Detective Sgt. Chris Copeland said police continue to work the murder case and follow up leads, but could always use more information.

“And anybody who has that information, we’re always glad to receive it,” he said.
