DECATUR — The Macon County Coroner's Office on Monday identified a 36-year-old man found dead at a Decatur residence Sunday as Darrell Boey.
Coroner Michael Day in a news release said Boey was discovered on the front steps of a residence in the 1900 block of North Church Street, and was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy was scheduled at the McLean County Coroner's Morgue in Bloomington for Monday evening, he said.
Day said the autopsy will determine the exact cause of Boey's death, which is also under investigation by the Decatur Police Department.
Preliminary autopsy information will probably be available Tuesday morning, he said, and will be released at an appropriate time.
Police Sgt. Chris Copeland said in a statement Monday that police went to the residence at 10:35 p.m. Sunday on the report of a "man down." Medical personnel determined that he was dead, Copeland said, and detectives were called in to process the scene.
