DECATUR — One person was shot near South Franklin and East Decatur Streets, just south of downtown. 

Police classified the incident as an attempted first-degree murder. The victim was an 18-year-old Decatur resident, Decatur Police Sgt. Steve Carroll said. There were no suspects as of Friday morning, Carroll said. 

Police were sent to the area shortly before 10 p.m. Sgt. Chad Shull confirmed the shooting and said the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. 

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., multiple police vehicles were parked near the scene and officers appeared to be searching the area around PT's Bar-B-Que, 243 E. Decatur St.
