DECATUR — Long John Silver's at 701 W. Eldorado St. has reopened after being closed on Friday by the Macon County Health Department.

“We are open for business and apologize for any inconvenience,” owner Dave Chapman said in a news release.

The news release didn't say why it had been closed. A sign posted by the health department on Friday notifying customers of the closure, also didn't cite a reason.

The health department inspects all restaurants in the county on a routine basis and in response to complaints. A restaurant inspection score of 60 or below results in automatic closure.

No one from the health department was available to comment Friday evening. The Herald & Review filed a Freedom of Information Act request seeking the health inspection records.
