DECATUR — School board candidates in Macon County can begin circulating petitions on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

The signature requirement for a school board candidate is 50 qualified voters residing within the school district, and petition pages should be numbered. Candidates must also complete a statement of economic interest and the stamped receipt should be attached to the completed Statement of Candidacy.

Petitions can be picked up at the office of the candidate's school district or the Macon County Clerk's Office, Room 104, 141 S. Main St., Decatur.

Filing dates for nominating papers are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10; 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Dec. 11-14; and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17.
