Parents and excited kids wait in line to receive their backpacks at the Decatur Family YMCA in this August 2016 photo. This year's event is Saturday.

DECATUR — Parents can get all their children's back-to-school needs taken care of on Saturday at the Jumpstart Back-to-school Clinics and at Backpack Attack.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., First Chrsitian Church, 3350 N. MacArthur Road and Crossing Healthcare, 320 Central Ave., will have free backpacks and school supplies, physicals, vaccinations, eye and dental exams. A parent or legal guardian must accompany children.

School supplies and backpacks, plus a carnival, will be at the YMCA's Backpack Attack, 220 W. McKinley Ave. There is no clinic at this location.

For families who need clothes and shoes for the kids, a free rummage sale will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Old Kings Orchard Community Center, 815 N. Church St., with gently used shoes and clothing for kids.

Each student preschool through high school can choose up to 10 items at no charge. Students in seventh-12th grade also receive school supplies. Students up to sixth grade should visit the Decatur Family YMCA's Backpack Attack for supplies.
