TAYLORVILLE — Taylorville High School was locked down for a short time Wednesday after a threatening note was found at the school, police said.
Police were notified of the handwritten note about 9:50 a.m. A "code red" lockdown procedure was activated for a short time during the initial notification, Taylorville police said in a statement.
Taylorville police and school staff began an investigation and a girl was arrested, the statement said.
Principal Matt Hutchison on Facebook said "the investigation determined this threat no to be credible and students returned to their normal class schedule during third period. We would like to thank our students, staff, and cooperating agencies for their prompt response and support."
