DECATUR — Attention, girls from 11 to 18: Today is your chance to be inspired.

The Girls World Expo from noon to 4 p.m. at the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel, 4191 U.S. 36, will have everything from sessions on self-esteem, leadership and healthy relationships to art and STEM exhibits.

The event is free and presented in partnership by DCC Marketing and the Herald & Review. An advisory panel of local girls helped plan the activities and discussion topics.

In addition to information sessions, the event will include exhibitors, giveaways, food and entertainment from DJ Mondo of HOT 105.5.

This is the first time Decatur has hosted the expo, which has also been featured in cities across the country, including Tucson, Arizona; Fresno, California; and Albany, New York.
