FORSYTH — Andrew Zupkoff, the village of Forsyth community and economic development coordinator, is leaving for a similar position in Freeport.
Zupkoff, whose last day will be Friday, will be the new economic and community development director for Freeport, a city of 24,000 in northwest Illinois.
"My tenure in Forsyth has been nothing short of an excellent experience," Zupkoff said in a news release, noting the establishment of a tax increment financing district and the opening of new businesses. "It's been a pleasure to be surrounded by an awesome, talented team, driven to accomplish many great things in this community ..."
Zupkoff came to Forsyth on Feb. 27, 2017, after serving as an intern planner in the Department of Community and Economic Development for the city of West Des Moines, Iowa.
The village of Forsyth is currently seeking applicants for its next community and economic development coordinator.
