DECATUR — State Rep. Bill Mitchell, R-Forsyth, and Dan Caulkins, the Republican nominee for state representative in the 101st House District, will tour the district Wednesday, Aug. 29, to call for reforms to Illinois’ Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as food stamps.

The stops include:

  • DHS Family Community Resource Center, 707 E. Wood St., Decatur at 11:30 a.m.

  • DeWitt County Courthouse, 201 W. Washington St., Clinton at 12:30 p.m.

  • Mahomet Village Hall, 503 E. Main St. at 2 p.m.

  • Piatt County Courthouse, 101 W. Washington St., Monticello at 3 p.m.

Caulkins is running to replace Mitchell, who announced last year he would not seek re-election. The other candidate in the race is Democrat Jen McMillin.
