DECATUR — The city of Decatur will hold its third citywide cleanup event of the year from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, in the parking lot at the Decatur Civic Center, 1 Gary K. Anderson Plaza.

The events allow residents to dispose of items such as old furniture, mattresses and household items in roll-off bins in the parking lot. Residents must place the items in the bins themselves.

No electronics, paint or yard waste will be accepted. Limited amounts of tires will be taken.

The city of Decatur, in partnership with Advanced Disposal, began offering the disposal events in 2015 as a way to help clean up neighborhoods.

The final cleanup event is set for 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11. Others were held in May and June.
