DECATUR — A Springfield man killed in a motorcycle collision Tuesday outside Hervey City has been identified by the Macon County coroner.

Daniel Judd, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene at about 5 p.m. after suffering massive head and torso injuries from a motorcycle crash at Illinois 121 and Stocks Road in rural Mount Zion Township, according to a statement from Coroner Michael Day.

The Macon County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash, Day said.

The sheriff's office said Tuesday that the motorcycle was traveling south when it went into oncoming traffic, hitting a vehicle towing a boat going the opposite way and another vehicle, at about 2 p.m.

No other injuries were reported.

Routine toxicology testing and an inquest are pending.
