Try 3 months for $3

DECATUR — Kentucky Fried Chicken, 1310 E. Pershing Road, reopened Thursday, March 7, after a three-day closure by the Macon County Health Department.

The closure was announced by a sign on the door Monday, March 4, after five health code violations were cited by an inspector.

Inspectors visited the KFC location for a 30-day follow-up inspection.

The inspection report obtained by the Herald & Review through a Freedom of Information Act request said an inspector cited grease build up behind and below equipment on the cook and prep lines.

KFC representatives were contacted Friday morning by the Herald & Review, and the restaurant was confirmed to be open again.
