Crash at 36 and Wyckles

First responders work the scene of a multiple-vehicle crash at U.S. 36 and Wyckles Road in Decatur.

DECATUR — Two people were hospitalized Wednesday after their vehicles collided at the intersection of U.S. 36 and Wyckles Road, police said.

Sgt. Adam Jahraus said first responders were called to the scene shortly before 6:45 p.m. He said the drivers of both vehicles, a pickup truck and an SUV, were taken to a local hospital with what he described as minor injuries. Neither vehicle had any passengers, Jahraus said.

Decatur Police, fire departments of Decatur and Harristown, and Decatur Ambulance Service responded to the crash. Traffic was partially blocked on westbound U.S. 36 and on Wyckles as they worked the scene, and all lanes were reopened just after 8 p.m.

Jahraus could not provide more information about the crash at the scene, and said an investigation into it was ongoing.
