DECATUR — A 54-year-old man told officers he was biking down Main Street  Sunday afternoon and was shot in the ribs with a BB by someone in a passing vehicle.

Detective SgtChris Copeland with Decatur police said officers spoke with the victim at 4:35 p.m. in the 500 block of North Main Street. The man had a mark on the left side of his ribs consistent with being shot by a BB.

The victim told officers he didn't know if the suspect was a man or woman, but he saw an arm hanging out of a newer, silver and small SUV, Copeland said.

Copeland said the Decatur Police Department is investigating the case.
