DECATUR — A wind advisory is in effect from noon today until 3 a.m. Wednesday across Central Illinois.

Macon and surrounding counties will be affected with wind gusts up to 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Lincoln. This will make travel on highways difficult, especially on north-south oriented roads including Interstate 55, I-155 and I-57.

The weather service advises drivers to use extra caution during the wind advisory.

Expect snow, rain and areas of fog before noon, with a chance of snow between noon and 5 p.m. Total snow accumulation is expected to be less than 1 inch.

Temperatures will reach a high of 36 degrees during the day and a low of 19 degrees tonight, the weather service said.
