DECATUR — The temperature roller coaster will continue for parts of Illinois in the coming days, according to the National Weather Service in Lincoln. Winter weather systems are also expected Saturday through Tuesday.

The weather service issued a hazardous weather outlook warning that there will be wind chills that drop the temperature into the single digits below zero Thursday night and Friday morning.

“Large temperature swings expected the next several days,” the weather service said. “Some periods of light snow this weekend and early next week.”

A winter weather system moving through the area on Saturday through Sunday will bring light snow, possibly mixed with light rain on Saturday night, the weather service said.

Snow accumulation is possible through Tuesday as another winter system is forecast to reach the area Monday night through Tuesday, according to the weather service.

The outlook is in effect for the following countries as well as most of central Illinois: Christian, Clark, Clay, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, DeWitt, Edgar, Effingham, Jasper, Logan, Macon, Menard, Moultrie, Piatt, Richland and Shelby.
