Project Linus

Dozens of sewing machines and volunteers fill the Decatur Memorial Hospital classrooms for the Project Linus Make A Blanket Day in 2015.

DECATUR — Project Linus Make a Blanket Day will be 9 a.m. To 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in the classroom area.

Attendees will sew, knit, crochet and make fleece blankets which will be bagged for delivery to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need.

The Central Illinois Chapter of Project Linus began in 1999 and has donated over 89,000 blankets to children in Central Illinois, while the national organization has provided over 6.5 million blankets. Visit the website, or the Central Illinois chapter's Facebook page.
