DECATUR — The following is a list of areas in which road work is scheduled to take place during the next week, according to local and state officials.
The schedule is dependent on the weather and other unforeseen circumstances.


Monday to Friday

Street reconstruction of East Lawrence Street from 16th Street to 19th Street will cause road closures starting Monday and for the duration of this work.

Kinney Contractors will be removing and replacing sidewalks for bus shelter pad replacements, causing the closure of Monroe Street at the Walgreens off of West Pershing Road and the southbound turn lane into Walgreens.

The road near Regions Bank on East Pershing Road will be closed during work. Woodford Street north of East Pershing Road will also be closed. The bank itself will not close. 

Dunn Company will begin repaving of Airport Road. 

This work will cause the south 4,000 feet of Airport Road to be reduced to one lane and will cause the closure of East Beacon Drive at Airport Road and the closure East Hayden Drive at Airport Road.

The work will begin at 7 a.m. Monday and continue until about 7 p.m. Friday. 


The Country Club Road boat ramp on Lake Decatur will remain closed until Aug. 17 due to the city's dredging project. 


Kenney Road will be closed between Wise Road and Poland Road for bridge replacement, until Dec. 1.

Kruse Road will be closed between Spitler Park Road and Camp Warren Road for bridge replacement until Nov. 30.


The bridges carrying eastbound and westbound U.S. 36 over U.S. 51 at Harristown continues to be closed for the replacement of bridge decks.

A marked detour is currently in place to guide motorists around the bridge closure. 


Work will continue on pavement patching, milling, hot-mix asphalt and pavement markings on Illinois 121 for one mile in both direction off the West Okaw River. This project is expected to be completed by Sept. 1.
