DECATUR — Herald & Review media partner WCIA-TV is reporting a tornado has been confirmed Edinburg and Stonington in Christian County.

The station said the Christian County Sheriff's Office confirmed the tornado and are officials are getting information about what areas were involved.

A Tornado Warning has been issued for central Moultrie County and southeastern Macon County by the National Weather Service. 

The bulletin says: "At 916 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Dalton City, or 12 miles southeast of Decatur, moving southeast at 25 mph."

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for a wide section of Central Illinois, including Bond, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Champaign, Christian, Clark, Clay, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Fayette, Greene, Jasper, Jersey, Lawrence, Logan, Macon, Macoupin, Madison, Marion, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, Moultrie, Piatt, Pike, Richland, Sangamon, Schuyler, Scott, Shelby and Vermilion counties. 

The watch was issued at 8:21 p.m. on Monday. It expires at 3 a.m. Tuesday.
