BLUE MOUND — The driver of a vehicle that late Thursday went off Route 48 and crashed, seriously injuring a passenger, has been arrested for driving under the influence, police said Friday.
The Pontiac Grand Prix was northbound when it ran off the road at Seiberling Street and hit a tree, utility pole, outbuilding and parked camper, the Macon County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. Deputies responded at 11:40 p.m.

A passenger was taken by helicopter to a hospital.
Debris from the crash also damaged a garage, police said.
