DECATUR — The strong thunderstorm moving through the Decatur region is capable of 40 mph winds and pea-sized hail.
"Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways," the National Weather Service said in an alert.

The storm was tracking near Argenta and moving east at 5 mph as of 2:21 p.m., the weather service said. Decatur, Forsyth, Maroa, Cerro Gordo, Argenta, Oreana, Weldon, Oakley, Cisco and Milmine may impacted.
Thunderstorms also will be an ongoing threat through Saturday. The heat index is expected to range from 95 to 100 degrees both Thursday and Friday afternoons, the weather service said.
