DECATUR — All Millikin University students are safe and accounted for after a terrorist attack in London early Friday morning, officials said.
There are 15 students and one faculty member currently in London, and Millikin officials confirmed with all of them that they were safe and unharmed, spokesman Dane Lisser said.
All but one of the students was in the student housing at the time, and one was travelling outside of the country, Lisser said.
Twenty-two people were injured when there was an explosion on a commuter subway train. Police are considering the incident a terrorist attack, the fifth in Great Britain in 2017.
The incident occurred at 8:20 a.m. London time (2:20 a.m. CDT), as people traveled to work.
The university offers a London Semester for students to travel abroad and experience a different city and culture.
