MOUNT ZION — Frank J. Brischle Jr., 96, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2019, in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery with military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard and the US Army Honors Team. Frank “Junior” was born January 11, 1923, in Bloomsdale, MO the son of Frank J. and Agnes M. (Drury) Brischle Sr. He served in the US Army Air Corps 457th Squadron and was a World War II veteran. Frank retired from PPG in Quality Control for the company. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mt. Zion. He married Alpha “Rosie” Fisher on June 2, 1946. She preceded him in death on January 1, 2018. Frank and his wife enjoyed traveling as snowbirds to Hudson, Florida and dancing.

Surviving are his children: Glenda Suits (Dewey) of Decatur, Burton Brischle (Stan) of Mt. Zion, Walter Brischle (Karen) of Decatur, and Scott Brischle (Coreene) of Mt. Zion; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one sister.
