DECATUR -- Donald Dean Oyler, 92 of Decatur died at 6:30 pm. Sunday, February 10, 2019 in Blessing Hospital Quincy, Illinois.

A family led memorial service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at 11:00 am. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Northwest Christian Church (1306 North Stanley Avenue Decatur, IL. 62526) A visitation will be at 10:00 am. to 11:00 am. Saturday, also at the church. Private inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery Decatur, IL. Memorials if desired may be made to the Northwest Christian Church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Don was born in Decatur, IL., on August 2, 1926 the son of Ora and Lena (Mills) Oyler. Don served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He worked as a Carman for the Wabash Railroad and later as a supervisor for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. Don was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Castle Williams American Legion Post 105 and Northwest Christian Church. He married Betty J. Cravens on June 16, 1950 and she preceded him in death on September 2, 2010.

Surviving are his children, Michael (Susan) Oyler, Natalie Bullington of Decatur, Amy (Thomas) Mowles of Sandusky, Ohio, ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two daughters , one son and his brothers and sisters.
