LONG CREEK -- Phyllis I. Lehman 89, of Long Creek, IL passed away at 5:08 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2019, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service to honor Phyllis’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. Phyllis was born February 28, 1930, in Pierson, IL the daughter of Wesley and Muriel (Ryder) Ford. She married Rodger L. Lehman on August 28, 1948. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2013. She retired from the US Postal Service having been a rural mail carrier. She formerly attended Trinity Nazarene Church.
Surviving are her daughters: Esther Williams (Glenn) of Decatur and Patty Belote (Jim) of Mt. Zion; son: David E. Lehman (Barbara) of Decatur; brothers: Lawrence Ford of Bethany, Robert Ford (Carol) of Kansas, and Arthur Ford (Linda) of Wisconsin; sisters: Nancy Conway of Decatur, Marie Smith of Decatur, and Ruth Scott of Mattoon; five grandchildren: Todd Belote, Stefani Heinz (Dave), Justin Williams, Cathy Nolte (Chris), and Jeremy Lehman; great-grandchildren: Jace, Ryan, Sean, Tatum, Laynee, and Genevieve.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother: Eugene, sister: Florene, and her great-grandson: Brody.
