THUMBS UP! To mural painters past, present and future. Murals have exploded in Decatur since the start of the Decatur Mural Project in 2012. Private businesses have also taken initiatives for work done on their sites. Fantastic public art is one of the things that elevates a city's quality of life. We thank those sharing their buildings and those sharing their art. Watching the works in progress is delightful.

THUMBS UP! To the Rock Springs Conservation Area. Operators of the site are acknowledging those with mobility issues can have difficulty accessing a pair of ponds. They're an acknowledgment of an aging population that needs help as well.

THUMBS UP! To the Macon County Circuit Clerk's office and its IT team. The county website was attacked by hackers last weekend. People coming to the site found an image of a Guy Fawkes mask, an Iranian flag, and some text. The page was restored by 10 a.m. Monday, and citizens were reassured personal information is not stored on the site. Government websites in Crook County, Oregon, and Murfreesboro, Tennessee were targeted in similar fashions. The attack reminds us of the importance of top-notch technical work and the importance of being alert.
