We want to thank all of the businesses and individuals that made monetary donations or donated items for our live and silent auctions, especially Andrew Chiligris, J.L. Hubbard Ins. and Bondas, Macon County Sheriff Office Community Foundation, Hickory Point Bank, Iron Workers Local 46, NHL, Blues and Blackhawks that helped us raise the money that we are donating to the ACS.

We would also like to thank all of the players that competed in the DYHA alumni hockey games and the spectators that came out and supported our efforts that night and proved once again what a great and generous community that we love in. I would like to especially thank Shane Brilley, Kim Taylor, Joe York and all of the other volunteers that helped make this happen. I retired Feb. 1 and now will work to be on the bottom of the dog pile when we defeat cancer.

This year we raised $13,073.06 for ACS, $1,310 donated directly to the two young men battling cancer that were named honorary team captains and dropped the first puck at our two games. Sadly, Tanner Gillen has lost his battle with cancer and Brody Heinz is still fighting. Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers.

We also raised $663 for our scholarship program and two large boxes of toys for the Salvation Army. Grand total of money raised at this year's event was over $15,000, and grand total in our first four years was over $68,000, along with nine large boxes of toys for the Salvation Army. Our goal for next year will be to go over the $100,000 mark.
