I have thought about how people are so divided with politics. But my new slogan is “It’s not the party, it’s the person.” I will never forget Dan Caulkins and his wife, Jo, helping me after the fire in my business, Zips Flowers by the Gates, in 2001. Dan brought a box truck and they helped me move out of the burnt building into a temporary location right before our big Valentine’s holiday.
This year, Dan Caulkins and his team again came to my rescue at yet another Valentine’s Day, one of the busiest delivery days for a flower shop. They stepped in as delivery people to help me have a successful holiday.
Dan Caulkins is genuine.
When people get to meet him, they will get a glimpse of Dan’s attitude of service. That is why Dan is the man that needs to be our next state representative.
At a time when people are skeptical about politics one man rises to the service of a friend. Traits of service and selflessness are not often seen at the state house, but are sorely needed now more than ever.
