Here are a few things you need to know about President Trump’s recently appointed Attorney General (AG) William Barr and Special Counsel Robert Mueller:
Barr was also George H. W. Bush’s AG and was involved in the cover-ups of Iran-Contra and Iraq-gate during Bush’s presidency. He’s a longtime friend of Mueller.
Mueller was the FBI director who testified before Congress as part of the Bush/Cheney regime, pushing for the criminal invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Mueller was assigned to investigate Trump, so why didn’t he demand to interview him? Intent to collude requires direct examination of the president himself. Could it be because this investigation was nothing but a farce and a distraction? Consider the following:
Trump has blocked our government’s responses to the climate crisis; has gotten away with massive federal deficits caused by his tax holiday for corporations and the rich; backs for-profit colleges that have committed crimes against their students while heavily subsidizing them with our tax dollars; is pushing to weaken or eliminate controls over Wall Street, setting the stage for another economic meltdown; opposes any increase in the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour and does not adequately enforce fair labor standards; has hired and personally profited from undocumented workers while attacking their presence in the U.S.; tells us there are some very fine people marching with Confederate flags and chanting Jews will not replace us; packs our courts with extreme right-wing judges who’ll rule against working people for decades to come; violated the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution; advocated violence against political adversaries and directed law enforcement to investigate and prosecute political adversaries for unjustifiable purposes; undermined the freedom of the press and violated campaign finance laws.
