Every year, I watch milkweed growing along both sides of Route 121 from Latham on my way both to and from Decatur to shop for food, clothes and health care. I live on the edge of Macon County. Decatur profits much from my dollars.
Now the gripe: Every year I watch big tractor mowers come from my side of Logan County Route 121 all the way to the city of Decatur Route 121 and cut down beautiful milkweed the monarch butterflies need so badly.
Can you convince both counties to leave the road sides alone? Get people involved to cut by hand thorn plants which are by law to be removed.
