Music Festival

Lollapalooza organizers on Thursday revealed the hour-by-hour lineup for seven of its eight stages, and a festival rep said Kidzapalooza, its popular area devoted to children’s activities, will return for Chicago’s biggest summer music event.

Lollapalooza typically welcomes 100,000 daily attendees to see more than 170 acts perform across eight stages. This year, proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result is required to attend. For festgoers who are not fully vaccinated, a negative test result must be obtained up to 24 hours before entry. Organizers said they will detail the festival entry process in early July.

While Amsterdam isn't exactly warm and sunny in April, this is still one of the best times to visit the city. Why is that? You might have heard of the Netherlands' most famous flower once or twice: the tulip. If you time your visit to mid-April or later, you'll arrive at peak tulip season, when the massive fields surrounding the Dutch capital are at their most spectacular. Keukenhof Gardens is the place to see these beauties in bloom, and is only open for 51 days per year (30 of which are during the month of April). It's about a 35-minute drive from central Amsterdam, though packages that bundle transport and admission are available as well.

A trip with your favorite young people can provide the perfect opportunity to learn from each other. Why not share your passion for history, music, golf or scuba diving? Visit a war memorial, take in a concert or music festival or challenge them to a putting contest. Be open to their guidance and input when it comes to technology, entertainment or their current sporting interest. Don't hesitate to share your experiences and knowledge with the kids. It will mean more to hear a bit of history from someone who has been there. And, remember, you are part of their history.
