CHAMPAIGN — The complete schedule for the 2018-19 Illinois men's basketball season has been released.
On Tuesday, the dates for Big Ten Conference games were announced, but times for all games are still to be determined. The only time that has been announced is the Maui Invitational game against Gonzaga, which is 10:30 p.m., Nov. 19.
For the second year in a row, all conference schools will play their two first Big Ten games in early December.
This year the Big Ten added two more conference games for each team, increasing the total to 20 conference games.
Illinois will play seven teams — Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin — in home-and-home series.
The Illini open conference play with four straight games away from home, beginning at Nebraska on Dec. 2.
On Dec. 5, Illinois travels to the United Center for a conference game against Ohio State.
When Big Ten play resumes, the Illini will travel to Indiana Jan. 3 and Northwestern on Jan. 6 before playing three of their next four conference games at the State Farm Center.
Illinois will host its first Big Ten game on Jan. 10 against Michigan, before hosting Minnesota on Jan. 16.
On Jan. 26, Illinois will play Maryland at Madison Square Garden in New York City as part of the Big Ten's "Super Saturday — College Hoops and Hockey" doubleheader.
In a span of eight days in February, the Illini will play three home Big Ten games at home, beginning with Nebraska on Feb. 2, followed by Michigan State on Feb. 5 and Rutgers on Feb. 9.
Illinois closes home Big Ten play March 7 against Indiana and will end the Big Ten regular season March 10 against Penn State.
The Big Ten Conference Tournament will return to the United Center in Chicago for the first time in four years from March 13-17.
The conference tournament was played Feb.28 through March 4 last season at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
