DECATUR — The Millikin men's basketball team ended its season with a 79-62 win over North Park University on Saturday at the Griswold Center.

Millikin led 28-26 at halftime and blew the game open in the second half with their biggest led being 22 points. The Big Blue (11-13, 5-11 CCIW) shot 52 percent (32-62) from the field while hitting on 7-22 (32) percent from 3-point range. Millikin dominated the glass 40-26.

North Park hit on 21-57 from the field (37 percent).

Senior Elijah Henry finished with 17 points and six rebounds including four dunks. DaVante Harrell had 13 points and Levi Laws finished with five. Junior Zach Fisher scored 17 points for the Big Blue.

North Park's (4-21, 2-14) top scorer was Toby Marek with 16 points.

Millikin women lose to North Park

DECATUR — The Millikin women's basketball team lost its season finale 77-66 on Saturday at the Griswold Center.

Thanks to an Elmhurst win over North Central earlier in the day, the winner of the Millikin-North Park contest would claim the final spot in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) postseason tournament.

North Park led the entire game except for one tie and led 44-33 at halftime. Millikin (8-17, 4-12) shot 44 percent from the field while North Park hit on 46 percent. North Park had a major edge in the rebounding battle 46-32.

It was senior night for the Big Blue with Yanni Saddler, Faith Smith and McKinley Carey playing their final games for Millikin. Saddler ended her career scoring 26 points giving her 1,111 career points ranking her 18th on the Millikin women's basketball all-time scoring list. Sophomore Jordan Hildebrand had 15 points for Millikin while junior Briana Anthony added 12.

Jayla Johnson led North Park (10-15, 5-11) with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
