EAST PEORIA — Sycamore's Faith Reynolds delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead the Spartans to a 12-11 win over Mount Zion in the Class 3A state semifinals at EastSide Centre in East Peoria on Friday.

Mount Zion will play Kankakee Bishop MacNamara at 9 a.m. Saturday in the third-place game.

Nothing for Mount Zion in ninth

Braves go down in order in the top of the ninth. Headed to the bottom tied 11-all.

Headed to the ninth

Sycamore worked a two-out walk, but stranded the runner. Headed to the top of the ninth inning, tied 11-11.

Braves go in order

The top of the Mount Zion order went 1-2-3 in the top of the eighth inning. Game is tied 11-all headed to bottom of the inning.

Extra innings

Sycamore left a runner at second base in the bottom of the seventh. Mount Zion has the top of the order up in the top of the eighth.

Mount Zion goes 1-2-3 in seventh

Sycamore will get a chance to walk off against Mount Zion after the Braves go down 1-2-3 in the top of the seventh.

Tied 11-all headed to the bottom of the seventh.

Sycamore leaves a runner on first

The Spartans put a runner on first after Mount Zion's fifth error of the game. 

Headed to the top of the seventh tied 11-all.

Braves go in order

Mount Zion goes 1-2-3 in the top of the sixth inning.

Tie game headed to the bottom of the sixth.

Sycamore ties game

The Spartans scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game 11-ll against the Braves.

Headed to the top of the sixth.

Eades helps her cause

Mount Zion pitcher Audrey Eades doubled to left field to drive in pinch runner Courtney Maley with two outs in the top of the fifth inning.

The Braves lead 11-4 entering the bottom of the fifth. 

Kennedy picks off runner

Mount Zion catcher Dayna Kennedy picked off a runner at third base in the bottom of the fourth to get out of any danger. Nothing doing for Sycamore in the bottom of the fourth.

Mount Zion leads 10-4 entering the top of the fifith.

Braves strand two

Wrigley led off the top of the fourth inning with a single that just scooted out of the infield and Isabel Shafer worked a walk two batters later, but they were stranded at second and third, respectively.

Mount Zion leads 10-4 headed to the bottom of the fourth inning.

Sycamore gets a run back

The Spartans scored on a sac fly to right field in the bottom of the third inning to get a run back. Mount Zion right fielder Gabbie Koslofski dove for the catch, but the Spartans stranded a runner.

Mount Zion leads 10-4 entering the top of the fourth inning.

Braves plate nine runs in third

It all started with a one-out double from Dayna Kennedy before Mount Zion scored four runs in the top of the third inning. Audrey Eades singled behind Kennedy followed by an intentional walk to Wrigley.

That loaded the bases for Ally Bruner to chop a ball over the head of the Sycamore third baseman to plate two runs to tie the game 3-all.

Isabel Shafer singled to load the bases again and Bailey Davis delivered a two-RBI double. Three batters later, with the bases loaded for the third time in the inning, Emma Ewing delivered a three-RBI double. 

Kennedy, batting for the second time in the inning, rocketed a first-pitch, two-run home run to left field.

Mount Zion leads 10-3 headed to the bottom of the third.

Sycamore scores three in the second

Sycamore got an RBI double from Ally Poly, an RBI groundout from Mia Richards and an RBI fielder's choice off the bat of Kenzie Schlooser to take a 3-1 lead on Mount Zion after two full innings of play.

Braves leave one on

Stephanie Hurm worked a two-out walk in the top of the second inning, but was left at first base.

Mount Zion leads 1-0 headed to the bottom of the second.

Eades strands a Sycamore runner

Sycamore leadoff hitter Haley Trela reached first after an error at third base, but Mount Zion pitcher Audrey Eades stranded Trela at third base, getting a pair of groundouts to end the bottom of the first.

Mount Zion leads 1-0 after a full inning.

Wrigley homers in top of the first

With two outs in the top of the first inning, Wrigley unloaded on the second pitch she saw and sent it over the right field fence to give the Braves a 1-0 lead after a half inning of play.
