LAST MEETING: Bloomington won 46-14 last season.
LAST WEEK: MacArthur beat Urbana 34-30; Bloomington beat Eisenhower 53-0.
KEY PLAYERS: For MacArthur, Jaquay Owens, Jr., RB/DB; Devan Ingram, Sr., QB/DB; ShawnTrez Spates, Jr., WR/DB; Shaquez Bond, Jr., WR/DB; Seth Sturdivant, Jr.
For Bloomington, Jake Romani, Sr., QB; Christian Neal, Jr., RB; Coree Harrell, Jr., WR/DB; Devon Roberts, Sr., LB; Austin Weltha, Sr., WR/LB
KEYS TO THE GAME: The game will match a pair of teams which apparently played their way into the playoffs with wins last week — MacArthur in 5A and Bloomington in 6A. The Generals are sitting strong with five wins and 38 playoff points going into today’s game. But a win tonight could keep away a game against one of the top seeds. MacArthur was able to shake loose Jaquay Owens for 190 yards last week, but the defense continues to be a concern. The Generals have allowed 34, 59 and 30 points during the last three weeks.
Bloomington has the weapons to keep up with MacArthur. Roberts and Weltha have combined for 21 tackles for loss this season, and the Purple Raiders defense has picked off 12 passes. But things also have fallen apart for Bloomington, which gave up 35 points in a loss to Normal West, 33 in a loss to Normal and 50 against Danville. The Purple Raiders were without running back Kendrick Cooley last week because of disciplinary reasons, but Neal stepped in to pick up 113 yards against Eisenhower.
