CHAMPAIGN — Illinois has its first two-game winning streak since it beat Indiana and Rutgers on Jan. 24, 2018 and Jan. 20, 2018 with a 73-55 win over East Tennessee State.

Trent Frazier lead all scorers with 25 points to go with five assists. Giorgi Bezhanishvili had 15 points and Kipper Nichols scored 14. 

The Illini (4-7) forced 20 turnovers, scoring 19 points off turnovers.

Illinois up 70-51 with 3:19 left

A Kipper Nichols floater off the glass gave the Illini a 19-point lead late in the second half.

Illinois has controlled this game from the onset, despite small runs from East Tennessee State in the second half. ETSU has 20 turnovers.

Trent Frazier leads all scorers with 25 points, Nichols has 14 and Giorgi Bezhanishvili has 12.

East Tennessee State closing the gap

ETSU is on a 12-2 run over the last 3 minutes, 9 seconds to trail Illinois by 16 points, 59-43, with 7:58 left in the game. 

Illinois, at one point, led by 30 points in the first half. 

Illini leading midway though half

Illinois leads East Tennessee State 27-33 with 10:52 left in the game.

Trent Frazier has 23 points, his season-high is 29 against Gonzaga at the Maui Invitational. 

ETSU is known for its rebounding ability, but Illinois is out-rebounding the Buccaneers 29-22, including pulling down 10 offensive rebounds.

East Tennessee State opens second half strong

After struggling in the first half, ETSU opened the second half on a 7-0 run to cut the Illini lead to 18, 43-25, before Illinois connected on a pair of 3-pointers.

Da'Monte Williams and Trent Frazier each hit a triple to put Illinois up 49-25 with 15:11 remaining in the game.

Flawless first half helps Illinois to big lead

Illinois shot 45 percent from the field, including 47 percent from 3-point land to take a massive 43-18 lead at halftime against East Tennessee State.

Trent Frazier has 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting and Kipper Nichols has 10 points.

Despite shooting 1-of-8 from the field, Aaron Jordan has nine rebounds. Illinois had forced 14 East Tennessee State turnovers, scoring 15 points off turnovers.

Illinois cruising

Illinois leads East Tennessee State 37-10 with 3:45 left in the first half. 

Trent Frazier as 12 points, Kipper Nichols has 10 points and Illinois is shooting 52 percent from the field.

ETSU is shooting 21 percent with 13 turnovers.

Fracas, ejection, blowout

East Tennessee State guard Isaiah Tisdale was issued a flagrant 2 foul for contact with Da'Monte Williams in the first half. 

Illinois is firing on all cylinders, up 29-5 with 9:23 left in the first half.

The Illini are shooting 65 percent and ETSU is shooting 11 percent with eight turnovers.

Feliz hits a 3-pointer

Junior Andres Feliz connected on a 3-pointer to give Illinois an 18-5 lead with 11:24 left in the first half.

The Illini have forced seven turnovers so far, scoring 10 points off of those turnovers. 

East Tennessee State is shooting 14 percent from the field.

Kipper aggressive

Illinois forward Kipper Nichols has eight of the first 15 points. He's got a 3-pointer, mid-range, free throw and reverse layup to go with a big block on ETSU big man Jeromy Rodriguez on defense.

Illinois leads 15-8 with 12:35 left in the first half.

Illinois forcing turnovers

Illinois has forced five East Tennessee State turnovers in the first four minutes to take a 7-2 lead with 15:51 left in the first half.
