DECATUR – Rohini Roy, daughter of Dr. Vijay Roy and Sapana Roy of Decatur, joined the law firm of Samuels, Miller, Schroeder, Jackson & Sly, LLP in September and is an associate attorney.
Rohini is a 2011 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University at Bloomington with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a 2014 cum laude graduate of St. Louis University School of Law, where she served on the school’s Public Law Review.
While serving on Law Review, Rohini had an article published titled, “Christian Louboutin v. Yves Saint Laurent: The Second Circuit’s Functionality Faux Pas,” which discussed the impact of trademark law on the fashion industry. Rohini served as an articles editor for the Public Law Review as well. In law school, Rohini made the Dean’s List and received four Academic Excellence Awards for Legal Research and Writing, Entertainment Law, Copyright and New Media, and Jurisprudence.
Rohini is licensed to practice in Illinois. Her general civil law practice includes work in the areas of estate planning and probate, corporate and business organizations law, civil litigation, real estate, and family law.
Rohini was born in Patna, India and raised in Decatur. She graduated as valedictorian of her class at Lutheran School Association High School in 2007.
