ANSWER: We went to Germany and Austria six years ago. That
vacation was special not only because it was a different culture,
with a different language, but also because we did not take cell
phones; did not have internet access; and left all of our regular,
daily responsibilities behind for eight days. It was just my wife,
my son and I sharing a great adventure.

ANSWER: My favorite summer vacations were the years we traveled
with the MacArthur High School Jazz Band to see them perform in the
Netherlands, Paris, Germany, and Switzerland. Our children and
their friends were in the band. Band leader Jim Culbertson and the
traveling group of parents, grandparents, teachers, and the school
principal made every minute fun. Well, except when it rained way
too hard one night in Munich.
OCCUPATION: President, Decatur Earthmover Credit Union
ANSWER: My most enjoyable vacation is fishing on Crane Lake,
Minn., in the boundary waters of Canada with my father. It's a
chance to slow down, relax and get away from the world awhile.
Being able to enjoy the beautiful scenery while fishing and
spending time with friends and family is the perfect way for me to
unwind.

ANSWER: My favorite vacation destination is above and by far
Savannah, Georgia. I love the laid back demeanor of southern
hospitality; nothing is ever a big deal and no one is ever in a
rush. I can spend hours just walking around town taking in the
history, visiting monuments, or just taking pictures of the moss
covered oak trees. I can't imagine a more perfect location, 20
minutes from the beach, quant little shops, and no trip is complete
until I have a fresh seafood dinner at Elizabeth's on 37th
street.
