Decatur, IL – Meet the 20 Student Ambassadors representing Richland Community College for the 2026-27 academic year.
This fall, Richland is debuting its Student Ambassador program, a leadership opportunity for students willing to represent the college at events, support recruitment and community outreach efforts, and share the Richland experience. Through the program, ambassadors receive a full-tuition scholarship for the academic year, hands-on leadership and professional development experiences, and networking opportunities.
Ambassadors also enroll in a 1-credit Student Development course focused on learning about leadership, networking, career readiness, and communication skills. They will receive a $500 award upon completion of each semester. For extra guidance and career exploration, each ambassador will be paired with a Richland alumni or community mentor.
“The Student Ambassador program is a great example of what can happen when we work together across the College to put students at the center of what we do,” said Julie Melton, Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Interim Vice President of Student Success. “Through this collaboration between Student Success and Institutional Advancement, our inaugural ambassadors have the opportunity to find an area they are passionate about, share their voice and help strengthen the Richland experience for current and future students.”
The ambassadors begin the program this week as Richland enters the 2026-27 academic year.
