“I started volunteering way back in high school. So getting to be here today with ADM is just super rewarding, and knowing that I’m able to make a big difference in my community really matters to me.”

“What inspires me to do this is it’s helping the community. There are so many people that are in need of help, and it’s a great opportunity.”
Tina Mitchell
“Well it’s for the good of community. The more people that help out the better off the community can be. There's a lot of people out there who need help every now and then. Why not give them a hand here during the day, too? Do what we can do.”
Kenny Burns
“I do this because I love helping people, and I personally want to be a nurse when I grow up, and all of my family has been in the medical field before, and I just love being able to put a smile on people’s face and just be able to give back to my community.”
Tinlee Ford
“Because I enjoy doing volunteering. It’s good for the community, and it’s part of what Kiwanis is all about. It’s fun. You get to see a lot of people, talk to a lot of people that you know.”
Bill Meyer
“I think it’s because I’ve seen food insecurity. I’ve experienced food insecurity personally, and I think it’s really important that you don’t put a stigma to that and you make sure that everybody in your community is fed, even kids. I think that’s the biggest thing. I’ve seen so many kids who don’t have enough food at home, and it leads to so many problems — behavioral problems, learning issues — and really it just is the source of a lot of things that are wrong right now.”
Lindsay Romano
“Working in emergency department we see a lot of patients within the community and a lot of the patients have some food insecurity, and so this is one way that we can give back. So I really look forward to this event every year. It’s something that I really enjoy doing.”

“Part of our organization is based on volunteer, we’re volunteers there, and we believe in community, and Sister Cities is a friendship committee anyway, and we support the community as much as we can.” — Jacalyn Osborne
“The spirit of giving with love means a lot to a whole lot more poeple than we would imagine. So it’s good to take effort to give back and to help bless one another, and I think that’s one of the number one things that we’re doing out here to help one another. Because it’s tough times, and if we can help one another with love and peace and joy it makes a big difference.”
Al Lawson
“The need obviously is a key factor. We have to help the people in the community that need the assistance. And this is such a monumentally well-done operation. It’s such an efficient machine. So many people are involved from the volunteer standpoint, so many people donate, and it’s just exciting to be apart of something this big and bold and important.”
Bruce Nims
“Obvioiusly our area, of all the things, food insecurity is a huge issue for us. I am part of the United Way, and so ALICE families are really where we look at. And so when you’re dealing with someone who is Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed and you’ve seen the high cost of food and how that’s changed, it’s very easy to see that that family could become very food insecure. I grew up as an ALICE child, so I think it’s important just to be part of the process, being able to give back.”
Desiree Wright
“Our community really needs help. This program, we have a lot of people that are going hungry, without food and so forth, and will run into a situation where they don’t have money to fix a refrigerator and buy groceries also. So that’s why I volunteer.”
Karin Betzer
“To me it’s just being able to give back to the community. Just helping make a difference and helping people out.”
