Chastain & Associates LLC is pleased to announce its acquisition of Phillip W. Cochran Consulting Engineer, LLC, a company specializing in land development services.
Cochran Engineering will benefit the entire group and will help Chastain continue its growth as a full-service, multi-disciplined engineering firm throughout Central and Northern Illinois.
Established in 1946, Chastain is a longtime Decatur consulting firm providing engineering services to many of the developers who were instrumental in the growth of Decatur during the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. Since the ’70s, Chastain has continued to grow by opening offices in the Chicago and Rockford areas. While Chastain continued to serve the development community, their growth has been primarily in the transportation industry.
Cochran Engineering began serving the local development community in 1978 and has secured invaluable experience with local governmental agencies allowing projects to move through the approval process in the shortest amount of time.
“We feel this acquisition benefits everyone,” partner Kevin Myers said. “Cochran Engineering staff has the land development experience and proficiency needed to grow that sector of our business while Chastain has the roadway, state agency and structural experience to support that growth. It is a great fit for the future.”
This new acquisition integrates all personnel from Cochran Engineering, as well as their relationships and processes that have made them a success. Phil Cochran continues to serve clients as the partner of land development at Chastain.
“I would suggest that this change will be no change to my clientele,” Cochran said. “Our goal remains to help our clients be successful with their projects. After all, we are successful only if they are successful.”
In addition, Myers has been named managing partner of the firm which now operates under the name of Chastain & Associates LLC (formerly Homer L. Chastain & Associates, LLP).
